The show is organized by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute. Tomorrow’s technology arrives November 7-11 at the all-new RFID Pavilion located on the lobby level of the Lakeside Center (East) at McCormick Place. The cutting edge of automatic identification, RFID is driving basic changes in packaging. However, RFID’s new problem-solving capabilities bring new hurdles, new choices and new challenges as well.

The pavilion will feature more than 40 exhibits of RFID technologies. These will include the following:

RFID technology providers with packaging operations experience

Systems integrators that have identified RFID solutions specifically for packaging operations

Packaging technology providers who offer RFID-enabled upgrades

RFID technology providers who offer “bolt-on” units for packaging equipment

For more information on the RFID pavilion, visit the RFID Pavilion page at Pack Expo.com.

Two of the eye-opener breakfasts feature RFID-enabled speakers. On Tuesday, November 9, John Greaves, lead, global RFID technology integration, Deloitte Consulting LLC, will present RFID Packaging Implementation Facts, Fantasies, Challenges, and Opportunities. Greaves is providing a quarterly column on RFID for Packaging World starting in November.

On Wednesday, November 10, Carl Gardner, Department of Defense, Logistics Automatic Identification Technology office, will present The Department of Defense Adds RFID to its Warfighter Support Arsenal.

Additionally, PMMI has organized an entire track of RFID presentations during the show on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, November 8-10. A link to the PDF of the complete conference schedule is available at PackExpo.com.
