Graeter’s celebrates 150 years with new ice-cream pint design

The first package redesign in six years, the new graphics feature enlarged ingredient images that showcase the flavor profile and indulgence of each variety without being busy or overly designed.

Family-owned craft ice cream maker Graeter’s Ice Cream will be launching a new packaging design for its pint-sized Salted Caramel, Oregon Strawberry, and Cookies & Cream varieties in late summer 2019. Created to mark the company’s 150-year milestone celebration in 2020, the design reflects the decadent indulgence that Graeter’s stands for. By early 2020, the new design will adorn all of the company’s ice cream flavors.

This is the first packaging refresh since the brand last updated its pint design six years ago. Shares Richard Graeter, fourth-generation owner and President/CEO of Graeter’s Ice Cream, “Our new packaging reflects how we’ve grown as a brand over the last 150 years. We’ve enlarged ingredient images, showcasing the flavor profile and indulgence without being busy or overly designed. We’re proud of where we landed on the new pint design, and we hope ice cream lovers everywhere will continue to find our truly handcrafted flavors in stores across the country.”

The Graeter’s pints will feature a darker color palette, straying away from the traditional white packaging that frequents ice cream freezers. Says Graeter’s, the darker color scheme conveys the indulgence of its flavor profiles, especially its famous dark chocolate chips, intentionally maximizing the use of space and composition. It adds that "the simple, clean, and traditional look reflects the lavish flavors unique to Graeter’s and seeks to reinforce the passion the Graeter family has for making generations of memories with the families they serve.”
