"Dear All,
Changes are part of life, and sooner or later we all have to face them. Now it is my turn, and I prefer to call it a voluntary step back from P.E. LABELLERS, only a physical one, because a part of my heart will always remain here.
I do this without regrets or nostalgia, but with happiness and satisfaction for everything that, with everyone’s contribution, I have been able to achieve in over half a century of work.
When I think back to 1974, when I was 22 and started this adventure with nothing but a blank sheet of paper and the three of us, and then look at where we are in 2026, after 52 years of work, it seems almost unbelievable. From nothing, with passion, determination and sheer willpower, we built — together with every generation who joined us — the global company that we now know as P.E. LABELLERS.
A truly unique company, focused on producing a single product: labelling machines. Today we are more than 570 people, with production plants in Italy, the USA and Brazil, and branches in the most important strategic markets around the world. We are the only company producing labelling machines for every sector and every speed range, with recognized excellence in several segments… (and yes, sometimes we are even the nightmare of a few competitors).
What is the secret behind this success? Something simple and difficult at the same time: always follow market needs, try to foresee them and, when possible, anticipate them. A lot of commitment, a lot of perseverance… and a bit of luck, always welcome. And above all, the awareness that success is neither guaranteed nor a given right: you must earn it every single day… weekends included.
In 2024, we celebrated our 50th anniversary with a wonderful event and a beautiful book telling the story of P.E. LABELLERS and its founder. From 1974 to today we have moved from drafting tables to computers, from landlines to instant global communication, and so much more. But despite all these changes, one thing has always remained the same: people, with their strengths and imperfections, make the difference. And one rule remains true: if you do not build your dream, someone else will hire you to build theirs.
In 2017, without seeking it, the ProMach Group — among the TOP 10 worldwide in packaging machinery —invited us to join their group. It was not an easy decision on a personal level, but I followed the principles that have always guided my professional life: if you do what is best for the company, you also do what is best for yourself.
Today, January 2026, nine years after the sale, I can say that it was the right decision.
P.E. LABELLERS today:
- Revenue has almost doubled, reaching around 150 Million
- Two new plants and many new hires
- New automotive-style production process
- Rationalisation and standardisation of components
- Significant investments in R&D
- The same management team as before the acquisition
- P.E. LABELLERS is now led by Nicola Schinelli (with me for 25 years) and Luca Bonardi, who since 2017 has driven many of the changes and new developments
- And me? Quite rare: nine years after the sale I am still here as Senior V.P. and Board Member
- And, a recognition I truly appreciate, Honorary President of P.E. LABELLERS
I consider myself very fortunate and deeply satisfied with this chapter of my life: I was able to build my dream… and from tomorrow I am ready to dream again.
In conclusion:
- A big thank you to all our customers who have given us, who give us and — I hope — will continue to give us their trust
- A big thank you and best wishes to all entrepreneurs in the packaging world, including almost all our competitors
- A big thank you to all our suppliers who have supported us over the years
- A huge and genuine thank you to all our collaborators — past, present and future — who have contributed and will continue to contribute to the success of P.E. LABELLERS
- And a heartfelt thank you to all of you… wishing you all the very best
Long life to P.E. LABELLERS… and to all of us!"
Thank you
Bruno Negri
