Clemson senior wins spring semester award

The Packaging Science Faculty in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences at Clemson University has nominated Katie Thompson for the spring semester Packaging World Outstanding Senior in Packaging Science Award.

Thompson has continuously participated in extracurricular activities during her time at Clemson. She has been working at the Career Services Center in her college for several years while also serving as an ambassador for her college and leader in the Greek Life community. In her undergraduate studies Thompson has participated in a three-semester-long Creative Inquiry focused on medical device packaging, and this year she will be co-presenting with SealedAir at HealthPack on an industry survey. She has participated in two co-op packaging engineering rotations at Campbell's Soup Company in Camden, NJ, and Bimbo Bakeries USA in Chicago, IL. Thompson will be continuing her packaging career after graduation in May with Dow Chemical as part of the Commercial Development Program.
