Former PMMI Chairman John Johnston Passes Away at 87

PMMI President’s Advisory Council member John Merrill Johnston age 87 passed away peacefully on Sept.1, 2018 at his home in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

PMMI President’s Advisory Council member John Merrill Johnston age 87 passed away peacefully on Sept.1, 2018 at his home in New Richmond, Wisconsin, surrounded by his family. A member of the packaging community for more than half a century, Johnston served as president of Doboyfor 26 years and started four overseas factories for Doboy.A former chairman of PMMI in 1983, Johnston was inducted into the Packaging Hall of Fame in 2000. Johnston remained active with PMMI after retirement and planned to assist once again in the Resource Center at PACK EXPO International 2018, a role he enjoyed for many years.

Visitation is Thursday, Sept. 6 at the CullenCrea Funeral Home in New Richmond from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
