Motion control with tracking

The Epsilon EP from Emerson Control has been designed with the features and capabilities

requested by packaging machinery builders: economically priced models from simple base servo amplifiers to a fully programmable motion controller; a wider power range while maintaining a compact 6” panel depth; and the “Motion Made Easy” simplicity of the company’s PowerTools Pro software. In addition, the Epsilon EP introduces Position Tracker, which can replace a PLC-based position-control module with a simple analog signal or fieldbus register. Position Tracker mode brings the closed-loop feature of the position controller to this unit, meaning the user simply needs to feed the drive an analog or fieldbus signal that is proportional to absolute motor position. No complex ladder logic is required to send acceleration velocity, and position information.
