California co-packer adding capacity

Winterborne Inc., a company that provides contract packaging, warehousing, and fulfillment services, is expanding its manufacturing capacity to produce more of its EnviroShell packaging.

The company said it is adding a fourth production line to its facility in Chatsworth, CA, which was scheduled to come on line by the third quarter of 2007.

The EnviroShell features 100% recycled PET material.

“Winterborne has increased our production capacity by 33% in response to the forecast demand for our new EnviroShell packaging solution,” said Howard Mallen, executive vice president for Winterborne. “Being one of the few true eco-friendly packaging solutions on the market to feature 100% recycled plastic, we’ve seen a sharp demand for replacing traditional landfill blister packaging with our cost-neutral, consumer-positive packaging solutions.”
