British package designer makes wool "cool". . .

Angela Morris, a 27-year package design veteran, has developed a way to use wool as an insulator of perishable packaged goods. Woolcool is an eco-friendly packaging that could replace polystyrene and polyethylene. Woolcool offers many advantages to plastic packaging: sustainability—22 million shearable sheep in the UK grow new fleece every year; wool does not give off toxic gasses—which plastic does even in storage; wool is completely recyclable—can be composted or reused; and of course, it is twice as effective as plastics at keeping heat out of packages! One disadvantage? Woolcool boxes cost 50% more than polystyrene alternatives.
