In UK, holiday sweets to be packaged "green"...

Mars and Nestle have reiterated their commitment to packaging reduction by outlining ways they will cut back this holiday season.

A spokesperson from Mars said, "seasonal products are often over packaged and so require extra focus to minimize the packaging used as well as communicating to consumers they can recycle the packaging used." Mars intends to focus on gift box chocolates, selection packs and Advent calendars this Christmas. Nestle is also committed to "green" packaging this year, and "all Nestle Confectionery's selection boxes are now made from recycled board and the plastic trays are made from recycled bottles." Nestle will save 213 tons of packaging this year by following its "green" guidelines.
