Available in October and competitively priced, Eco-Products’ new hot cups are ideal for coffee and tea suppliers as well as retailers who want to make a positive environmental impact without sacrificing price or quality.
Eco-Products estimates that if all 16 billion paper hot cups used annually in the U.S. were made with 24 percent recycled fiber, the following resources would be saved: 1.75 million trees, the energy required to power 10,319 American households for one year, and the greenhouse gases generated annually by 25,260 cars.
“We feel strongly that innovation is the absolute key to solving the global resource crunch that we currently find ourselves in,” said Eco-Products CEO Bob King. “Eco-Products is committed to finding new ways to bring resource saving products to market at competitive prices.”
Eco-Products chose Glen Allen, Virginia based MeadWestvaco (MWV) as its supplier partner for this innovative new product. “MWV was the first manufacturer to develop and introduce a food service-grade paperboard made with post consumer recycled content (PCF). MWare® Balance hot beverage cup stock used for the Eco-Products cup is designed to deliver the highest level of quality, consistency and production efficiency,” said Dobbie Newman, MWV marketing director of Food Service.
“While delivering this enhanced sustainable product MWV still takes all the necessary steps to ensure our food service paperboards comply with the stringent USFDA and ISEGA food contact standards,” added Newman.
These new hot cups complement Eco-Products’ existing line of single-use food service items supplied to restaurants, hotels, events, sporting stadiums, national parks and corporate cafes. Moving forward, Eco-Products will continue its commitment to environmental solutions offered at competitive prices by providing products made from both renewable resources and post-consumer recycled materials.
The cups are available in 4-, 8-, 10-, 12-, 16- and 20-ounce sizes. Accessories such as sleeves, lids and stir sticks are also available.
