The new SE 3.1 Tape Head from Dekka with updates that reflect the packaging trends of the marketplace and consumers today, will be demonstrating its capabilities in Booth S-3562 at PACK EXPO International 2024, Nov. 3-6, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
Dekka, a ProMach brand, is an industry leader in providing tape heads for case sealers, formers, and packers. Dekka tape heads offer absolute product protection and decrease tape wastage for a strong return on investment.
Almost every manufactured product needs to be transported through the supply chain, and the most popular secure method to do that is the corrugated box. However, that box is only as good as the tape securing it, that’s where the new Dekka SE 3.1 Tape Head proves its worth.
The stainless steel SE 3.1 is the latest iteration of Dekka’s popular and reliable tape head. Its engineering comes from Dekka’s evaluation of market packaging trends and customer feedback to identify three main areas for upgrade: clutch roller, tape brace, and tape spring plate.
New One-Way Clutch Roller
· Lower failure rate
· Better quality bearing and more consistent performance
· Less maintenance
New Tape Brace
· Effectively prevent the tape from falling
· Works well with tapes of different thicknesses, including very thin tape
· Works well in any environment including cold, wet, dusty, as well as within a strong ventilation system
· Resists wear better in comparison to the older guide
New Tape Spring Plate
· Stronger holding power on large-diameter tape rolls
“As we evaluated the tape head and the market today, we’ve seen some changes in materials and the need to build in added flexibilities,” said Sander Smith, Product Manager, Wexxar Bel. “Dekka is evolving with the marketplace and responding to input from our customers to deliver a tape head that’s designed to best meet their needs today, and our answer is the new SE 3.1.”
The new clutch roller provides a more effective way for operators to zero in on the right tension for their application. Typically, not much tension is needed to apply tape, but a certain level of tension is required to cut it. The SE 3.1 comes with a conical spring that gives operators greater tension control on the one-way clutch roller.
The new tape brace is a mechanism that keeps tape upright for proper application. It can handle a wide variety of tape thicknesses, including very thin or stretchable tapes. The brace provides a path for the adhesive side of the tape to remain upright, ensuring accurate application to the passing box.
Finally, the new tape spring plate features a more robust mandrel to help ensure the tape roll stays firmly in place during application.
Dekka further enhances the reliability of the new SE 3.1 tape head by offering 24/7 remote support and onsite technical service. Dekka also has in-house engineering capabilities to design and manufacture customized tape head mounting systems to easily integrate Dekka tape heads into any existing case sealing equipment, ensuring an accurate fit right out of the box, at no cost to the customer.
Dekka will be exhibiting jointly with Wexxar Bel at PACK EXPO 2024. Be sure to add Dekka in Booth S-3562 to your PACK EXPO 2024 itinerary to see how the new SE 3.1 Tape Head can add speed and efficiency to your next packaging application.
