APM shrink wrappers are fast, flexible and easy to control

From American Packaging Machinery, a series of continuous motion servo shrink wrapping systems runs a wide variety of films at speeds up to 200+ packages per minute and are now available with automation technology from B&R.

American Packaging Machinery demonstrated its ML series of overlap bottom static seal shrink wrappers at PACK EXPO 2010. The company has recently begun equipping the machines with controls from B&R Industrial Automation to meet the latest customer specifications.

Hallmarks of the APM wrappers are excellent package aesthetics and reliable 3-shift operation. The sealing system can be equipped with either a hot wire or hot knife, so it is capable of running any type of shrink film. A continuous motion seal carriage is servo driven for fast, smooth production.

B&R's integrated automation system displays all the information required for setup and operation. Unlike conventional PLCs, motion controllers and HMI, the B&R system controls all aspects of motion, logic, visualization, diagnostics and recipe management in a single program and touchscreen control panel.

In addition, APM offers a full line of shrink packaging systems used throughout the food, dairy, industrial, CPG and printing industries. These include side seal shrink wrappers, shrink bundlers, magazine wrappers, and high efficiency shrink tunnels.
