American Packaging Machinery demonstrated its ML series of overlap bottom static seal shrink wrappers at PACK EXPO 2010. The company has recently begun equipping the machines with controls from B&R Industrial Automation to meet the latest customer specifications.
Hallmarks of the APM wrappers are excellent package aesthetics and reliable 3-shift operation. The sealing system can be equipped with either a hot wire or hot knife, so it is capable of running any type of shrink film. A continuous motion seal carriage is servo driven for fast, smooth production.

Unlike conventional PLCs, motion controllers and HMI, the B&R system controls all aspects of motion, logic, visualization, diagnostics and recipe management in a single program and touchscreen control panel.
