TNA: Washdown v/f/f/s packaging system

TNA has launched a new v/f/f/s system with full washdown functionality—featuring a hygienic design, the arctic 3 is able to run efficiently and reliably in hostile wet and cold processing environments, while maintaining the highest levels of sanitation and flexibility.

The announcement comes as the company confirms it acquired Sabalpack, a leading Italian manufacturer of all stainless steel v/f/f/s technology for the fresh and frozen sector, in 2016. The arctic 3 is the latest generation of Sabalpack’s existing arctic range of full washdown v/f/f/s systems and is the result of the combined engineering expertise of the two companies.

Central to the design of the arctic 3 is the system’s A2 (AISI 304) stainless steel, corrosion-resistant cubicle, which ensures that key components like motors, vacuum pump and sealing jaws are fully protected from any dirt or water ingress. In addition, a separate electrical cabinet and user-friendly external, side-swinging touchscreen further aid ease-of-operation, facilitate sanitation and simplify cleaning operations. With an IP65 (NEMA 4x) rating, the TNA arctic 3 is able to withstand intensive washdown procedures - a key consideration in the fresh and frozen sector, where frequent sanitation is essential to comply with stringent global hygiene standards.

Capable of both constant and impulse sealing, the system delivers superior sealing performance and accuracy on a wide range of packaging films, including laminated polypropylene and polyethylene films like LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene). It also supports multiple bag options, including pillow, gusseted and square bottom bags, plus multipacks, offering manufacturers complete application flexibility on a single packaging system.
