Gebo Cermex: Drying system uses customized nozzle positioning

Designed to improve labeling, coding, and vision inspection quality and efficiency, Gebo Cermex's new OptiDry drying system – for all shapes and sizes of glass, plastic, and metal containers – provides precision drying and handling, rapid changeover, minimized energy consumption, and noise-absorbent casing for greater comfort of use, with a noise level of less than 80 dB.

The OptiDry features independently adjustable nozzle positioning to precisely target the air flow at the container’s neck, body, or both.  This adaptability makes OptiDry suitable for a wide range of applications including beverages, dairy products, food, home, and personal care products.

Because OptiDry uses nozzles, not air knives, container stability is ensured, and constant air velocity is maintained. OptiDry also offers adaptability: the height, spacing, and angle of the support plenums are fully adjustable to ensure that the nozzles are as close as possible to the containers. Calibrating the settings for good line regulation with efficient drying operations is also possible.

Rapid, simple changeover between container formats is achieved with graduated indicators that make it easy to reproduce precise plenum positioning for quick and efficient transition between product batches. Adjusting the nozzles’ positioning is also easy, either manually using the crank system or automatically with the help of a motorized system.

Energy consumption is minimized as a result of the adaptability of the nozzles. Their proximity to the containers help guarantee optimized airflow. The system runs with a single fan controlled by a 7.5 or 15 kW inverter.

Noise-absorbent casing improves the operators  environment:  the noise level of the system is less than 80 dB.

OptiDry is said to provide over 99% efficiency, and uses up to 3 drying modules for greater adaptability.
