Expo Pack Mexico (formerly called Expopak de las Americas) and Procesa 2000 are expected to attract 25ęŻ attendees to the Sports Palace in Mexico City, Mexico. Held June 6 to 9 from 12 to 8 p.m., the show is coproduced by Oprex (Mexico City, Mexico) and the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (Arlington, VA). Nearly 600 makers of packaging machinery and materials from around the world will exhibit at the show sponsored by AMEE, the Mexican Packaging Assn.
In addition to the exhibition, there will be a seminar entitled “Envasando” (Canning) from June 7 to 9 in the Thai House Salon of the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Mexico City. The seminar is suited for managers of container, production, quality control and marketing, and it will cover packaging of foods, beverages and pharmaceutical/personal care products.
On Wednesday, June 7, topics of discussion will include: packaging powdered foods; Snowflake two-dimensional coding technology; advances in high-barrier film in the food industry; form/fill/seal machines; and vibratory conveyors. The theme for the next day will be beverage packaging. The discussion will cover: palletizing trends; packaging water in flexible bags; aseptic packaging; and shrink packaging film.
Friday’s discussion will focus on pharmaceutical and personal care containers. Topics will include: conveyors for manufacturing; coding for the pharmaceutical industry; automated assembly feeders and components; new technology for packaging powder; and adhesive solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.
The cost for this seminar is $2ęŻ pesos (U.S.$210) and includes support material, a name tag for entry into the exhibition, transportation and translation service.
