The pouch is formed, filled and sealed in-line on a hf/f/s pouch-making machine from Bossar USA (Sarasota, FL), at whose SouthPack booth the pouch was seen. Nestlé, however, declined to answer all questions on suppliers, economics, sales results and markets. The pouch was also spotted at the recent interpack show in Germany at the stand of Budelpack Co-packer B.V. (Poortvliet, Holland, the Netherlands), a contract packager. It is believed there's nothing especially unique about the polyester/foil lamination itself, whose maker remains unidentified.
Nestlé deploys in-line pouch shaping
Nestlé France S.A. is pushing the bounds of stand-up pouch shaping technology with a contour pouch for Nescafé instant coffee. Available only in Europe, the 100-g pouch is shaped like the Nescafé glass jar because it's positioned as a refill for the jar.
