Rigid bulk packaging growth projected

Rigid intermediate bulk containers (RIBCs) and materials handling containers will pave the way for rigid bulk packaging growth in the United States. That’s according to The Freedonia Group, whose study Rigid Bulk Packaging projects demand for this type of packaging in the U.S.

to climb by 4% per year to $5.5 billion in 2007. Plastic drums and pails will also post above-average advances. Last year, the study states, nondurable goods represented more than 75% of rigid bulk packaging demand.
