Said to offer improved mechanical properties such as greater stiffness and melt strength, the color combination boosts gloss more than 200% over that typically found in HDPE. Approved for direct food contact and able to create opaque HDPE containers that may replace those made of PET, yielding cost and processing advantages. The relatively low tackiness of this combination practically eliminates demolding issues and many downstream handling issues, such as scuffing and hang-ups during conveying. It is also less susceptible to deformation when stored at higher temperatures.
