BASF produces Styrolux at new Mexican facility

BASF’s Altamira, Mexico, facility began production of Styrolux® styrene-butadiene copolymers, a line of injection molding and extrusion thermoplastic resins.

The facility has a capacity of 45ꯠ metric tons of Styrolux/year. It will begin supplying North and South American customers in Jan. 2004.

The site includes a manufacturing facility for Terluran acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and Luran®S acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate and a general-purpose polystyrene plant.
