Micro-dosing system from Catalent speeds clinical trials

To help drug development scientists reach their “first dose in man” faster, Catalent Pharma Solutions, LLC has added the Xcelodose® micro-dosing system to its Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina facility.

This system provides high-precision metering of powder active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) into capsules, which eliminates the need for upfront formulation activities and minimizes the amount of actives required to manufacture the clinical batch.

Orders from professional acne treatment brand Face Reality can combine a 30-mL serum with a 473-mL treatment-room bottle, and everything in between, in the same case. Working with a fulfillment provider, Face Reality removed the packaging guesswork and replaced subjective, picker-selected cases and bubble wrap with repeatable dimensioning software and paper-based void fill.
