Strategically aligning cased product into pallet forming robotic-pick configurations takes precision. Multi-Conveyor has designed and built many systems that ensure cartons travel in the designated pattern that meets the pallet stacking requirements of our customers. It’s what we do.
In this expansion application, our customer ordered a mirrored pallet forming conveyor system, we call Version 2.0, to match their original layer forming conveyor that Multi-Conveyor provided over a decade ago.
The design incorporates a spliced intermediate section and two newly designed ARB (Activated Roller Belt by Intralox®) conveyors to an existing robotic palletizer infeed. Non-powered roller transfer assemblies are essential at conveyor infeed and discharge.
The intermediate splice assembly is a single pre-assembled section that updates the frames of an existing conveyor but reuses a 14” wide plastic carry belt with roller top surface.
Multi-Conveyor’s electrical team designed one of the new ARB conveyors as a 1:2 active divert. Two pneumatically triggered pop-up active zone assemblies allow the customer to selectively divert single lane cartons (wide-side leading) to one of two lanes prior to a fresh robotic pick conveyor.
The second ARB conveyor applies dual lanes of plastic carry belt with a common end drive and beaded rail end stops. The end stops align the wide-side leading product and narrow-side leading product to a center rail, positioned for the customer’s robotic removal. (Note: Multi-Conveyor’s customer, a robotics integrator, spearheaded product detection sensors and logic controls.)
The versatility of this system gives the customer flexibility to run a multitude of carton sizes at variable speeds while still meeting required robotic pick pallet layer configurations. Multi-Conveyor systems will divert, align and orient based on our customer’s preferred robotics pattern.
