Dorner: Flexible chain conveyor platform

Dorner’s 2200 Series SmartFlex flexible chain conveyor platform provides small-part handling using a power transfer feature that smoothly transfers parts as small as 3-in. diameter on and off the conveyor.

The power transfer can be integrated into the conveyor in two different designs: drive tail or idler end. The direction in which product is moving on the conveyor dictates which power transfer to use: the drive tail is used when product is flowing off the conveyor, and the idler end is used when product is flowing onto the conveyor. Both options are slave-driven from the conveyor’s motor.

The 2200 Series SmartFlex is a high-performance, flexible, modular chain conveyor that can be configured to wrap around machinery and equipment in the packaging, food, medical and assembly industries.

All engineering tools and finished assemblies are provided by the company to allow customers to build complete 2200 Series SmartFlex conveyor assemblies to their exact layout dimensions and view it in 3D within minutes.

The 2200 Series SmartFlex: features an aluminum single-piece frame; navigates very tight corners with wheel and plain bend options; allows multiple product transfer options for end and side transfers; is available in widths of 65 mm (2.6 in.), 105 mm (4.1 in.) ,and 150 mm (5.9 in.); provides speeds up to 250 ft./min., and load capacity up to 600 lbs.; features multiple chain types including low friction, friction insert, conductive, cleated, roller top, and magnet top.
