SubCon Industries, Olean, NY, a private, nonprofit contract service provider founded in 1958, operates three sites, and recently bought a new rotary blister sealing machine to handle new high-volume packaging needs. This, along with the company’s employee base, which includes more than 200 people with disabilities, adds value to outsourcing partnerships.

“The disabled in the U.S. have a near 80% unemployment rate. We provide training and job skills for them, provide jobs in our operations, and place some of them into jobs with job coaches at many regional employers as well,” says Brian F. Eddy, Director of Marketing.

The company does secondary packaging, contract packaging, kitting, assembly, fulfillment “and many other last-mile, value-added supply chain services,” Eddy adds, citing POP Displays, pack-outs, club packs, blister packaging, shrink packaging and labeling.

SubCon recently added a new rotary sealing and blister machine for a new hardware-related product being rolled out nationally, and will help the contractor expand its base of work for customers, including brands and third-party logistics firms. Eddy says the organization’s growth stems not just from its capacity and efficiency but the pride customers take in supporting a “great cause…We help companies to reduce costs, enhance speed to market, and let them focus on their core competencies.”
