Listeria warnings?

A warning label on packaged deli meats and hot dogs indicating the products could contain the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria might be evaluated by the federal government.

At a public meeting held in early February by USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, "some sort of a warning was mentioned as one of the issues that could be discussed," FSIS spokesperson Beth Gaston tells Packaging World. The meeting was held in response to the alarming number of recent outbreaks of the deadly bacteria.
