Standards-of-identity changes sought
The National Yogurt Assn. filed a petition asking FDA to revoke the standards of identity for low-fat yogurt and nonfat yogurt; amend the standard of identity for yogurt, including incorporation of provisions for low-fat and nonfat yogurt; and amend the standard of identity for cultured milk in numerous ways, including allowing the use of the alternate term “fermented milk.”
