Not as many corks popping...

Champagne is no longer the celebratory drink it has been in the past, according to brand valuation consultancy Intangible Business. Their "Power 100" list ranks the world's most popular drinks. Dom Perignon fell around 30 places to exit the list, while other champagne brands such as Lanson and Tattinger also disappeared. "The biggest brands have taken quite a battering marking the end to a 15 year drive to premiumisation. This has been replaced with a drive to value," says a spokesperson for the consultancy. The top 3 drinks? Smirnoff vodka (1), Johnny Walker whiskey (2), and Barcardi rum (3).
