Variations on a theme...

In Egypt, traditional lunches are comprised of a brick of white cheese and a loaf of bread. Typically bought at a small grocery store, the cheese is sold "loose," that is, not pre-packaged. The Tasbeera—or snack-size aseptic pre-packaged cheese was developed by Egypt's Green Land dairy and Tetra Pak to appeal to customers who might want a more hygienic, easy-to-carry alternative to loose cheese. The pre-packaged cheese is the same size as the traditional alternative, and costs the same too—one Egyptian pound (18 cents).
