International agreements

Huhtamaki Van Leer (Espoo, Finland) has signed a letter of intent for the acquisition of Packaging Resources Inc. (Lake Forest, IL).

—Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, TN) will boost its PET sales capacity by 110ꯠ metric tons/year through contract mfg. agreements with TIEPET, Inc. (Asheboro, NC), PT Polypet Karyapersada (Jakarta, Indonesia), and Bangkok Polyester Co. (Bangkok, Thailand).

—Captive Plastics (Piscataway, NJ) has become a majority shareholder in PET-Power (Etten-Leur, Holland).

—Klöckner Hänsel Tevopharm (Sarasota, FL) has been appointed exclusive U.S. distributor of automatic packaging infeed and loading systems manufactured by Houdijk Holland (Vlaardingen, the Netherlands).

—Outsourcing Services Group (Mahwah, NJ) has completed the acquisition of Ivers-Lee Ltd. (Brampton, Ontario, Canada).

—Leading Brands, Inc. (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) and Cliffstar Corp. (Dunkirk, NY) have entered into an agreement to establish a joint venture to expand their private label juice customers across North America.

—Gusmer-Admiral, Inc. (Akron, OH) has formed an alliance with CEH Group (Singapore), calling themselves RIM Polymers Industries, PTE, Ltd.

—Loctite (Rocky Hill, CT), the U.S. subsidiary of Henkel (Düsseldorf, Germany), has purchased Dexter’s Specialty Polymers (Bay Point, CA).

—Testing Machines, Inc. (Islandia, NY) has acquired Adamel Lhomargy (Paris, France).
