Think Plastic Brazil member companies at PACK EXPO Las Vegas

Eleven Brazilian manufacturers featured high-quality products, diversity, and sustainability in packaging at PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2019.

Among Think Plastic Brazil’s participating companies that exhibited at the show were Lord Brasil; Packing Group; Plaszom; Polo Films; Splack; Vitopel do Brasil Ltda and Zaraplast. Think Plastic Brazil is an export promotion project for the Brazilian plastic industry, promoted by INP (National Plastic Institute) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

Export figures

USA is the second largest importer of Processed Plastic from Brazil with around 13% of share both in volume (almost 38 thousand tons – 2018*) and in value (USD157 million – 2018*). Last year, Brazil imported 48 thousand tons of processed plastic from the USA, a total of USD 434 million*. The country is the third largest exporter to Brazil in the segment.

Sustainability

Besides the products from the exhibitor companies, Think Plastic Brazil’s sponsor, Braskem, was also present at the Think Plastic Brazil booth with Green Plastic and Green Eva products, resins produced from sugar cane. The green polyethylene I’m green™ differential is its contribution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere, since it captures carbon dioxide during its production process. It also presents the same characteristics as those of the traditional polyethylene, that is, it doesn’t require machinery adaptation and is recyclable. Since its production start, in 2010, the green polyethylene I’m green™ has attracted the attention of several companies worldwide, and is currently present in over 150 brands in Europe, United States, Asia, Africa and South America.
