API Group acquires Hazen Paper Company’s paperboard lamination facility

With API Group’s acquisition of paper converter Hazen Paper Company’s paperboard lamination facilities, the company will concentrate on custom Holography and specialist paper converting.

API Group acquired Hazen Paper Company’s paperboard lamination facilities and business in Osgood, Ind. Founded in 1925, Hazen Paper Company is a paper converter based in Holyoke, Mass. and following the divestment of its Osgood plant will concentrate on its core business of custom holography and specialist paper converting in its Massachusetts’ facilities.

“The acquisition is part of our strategy to focus on brand enhancement solutions for the packaging market and it enables us to provide a combined foils and laminate offering to our global customers” said Dino Kiriakopoulos, CEO of the API Group. “The addition of an established US Lamination business with a pedigree in key sectors is very welcome. We have a strong track record of innovation, technical excellence and continuous improvement and we look forward to realizing the synergies this acquisition presents. We will continue to source holographic and other lamination films from Hazen. The business includes commercial and production assets of the Osgood based Lamination facility, along with employees who will transfer to API immediately.”
