ID Technology invests in new digital printing technology

ID Technology, powered by Pro Mach, has recently installed a new HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Label Press in ID Technology’s facility in Pewaukee, WI.

This major new investment replaces the existing older-generation Indigo press and enables the Pewaukee plant to meet the increasing demand for very high-quality digitally printed labels.

Digital label printing is a fast growing sector of the label and tag business, and eliminates the need for printing plates. Digital press technology offers a file-to-print workflow that is conducive to very fast turnaround for print jobs and is ideal for variable data projects, such as serialized barcodes and warehouse location labels. Faster press speeds and greater throughput delivers such projects quickly and at lower costs.

Compared to the older-generation digital presses, the new WS6600 can handle a wider range of substrates, is faster, and has better color control that can meet or exceed the quality of traditional gravure printing.

Charles Osborn, General Manager of ID Technology’s Pewaukee operations, says: “I feel the investment in HP Indigo technology, though very expensive, is worth the quality and timely delivery we can provide our customer base, even when presented with the most challenging deadlines!”
