Evertis expands to accommodate sales growth

Evertis, Portuguese PET-based film producer and extruder, is expanding its production facilities and sales staff with the goal of anticipating market trends, achieving total customer satisfaction, and establishing global brand recognition.

With a current presence in 15 countries in Europe, and North and South America, Evertis aims to become a market leader in these countries with its line of semi-rigid and rigid barrier films for food packaging, thermoforming, and blister packaging.

The company expanded production at its facility in Portalegre, Portugal (Evertis Iberica) earlier this year, increasing capacity to 45K tons/year.  Plans are to further increase production in the facilities in Portugal and Mexico by 10K tons each in the near future.

An increase in sales personnel is occurring at the same time in order to reinforce the company’s current market position and anticipate emerging opportunities.

Evertis is committed to sustainability practices and created its Recycling Unit as a result.  With this unit, post-consumer packaging is recycled and converted into recycled PET flakes that are incorporated into production.  In 2012, the Evertis Recycling Unit recycled 91% of collected post-consumer PET bottles in Portugal.  The company is also committed to effective industrial waste management.

In July 2013, Evertis Iberica received BRC Global Standards Certification.  The facility effectively implemented the HACCP Program, a food safety plan based on the Codex Alimentarius system.
