Its product and service portfolio for the pharma industry will be on display at MedTec Europe in Stuttgart, booth 4759, from March 13-15.
As in previous years, Gerresheimer Medical Plastic Systems will be showcasing innovative new products such as new laboratory diagnostic products and new services which it has introduced to augment its portfolio. "We are extending our value chain step by step to satisfy our customers’ single-source supply demands", explained Andreas Schütte, Member of the Gerresheimer AG Management Board with responsibility for the Plastic Systems Division. "Our acquisition of item GmbH, medical device design, the product design and development specialist, enhances our product development unit’s product design competence."
Gerresheimer Regensburg GmbH has set up a pharmaceutical packing and filling bay at the Pfreimd plant. In 2011 it was licensed for production under the German AMG (Medical Preparations Act) and is now approved for AMG-compliant packaging and assembly operations. "In future, we will be able to provide our pharmaceutics customers with pick and place service", said Andreas Schütte, explaining the extension of the production service portfolio.
Gerresheimer Medical Plastic Systems is committed to the one-stop shop strategy. It is involved in all stages of the value chain, from planning to finished product, such as product design, product development, engineering, tooling, special equipment production, large and small series production (including clean room production) under FDA/GMP conditions, product finishing, manual, partly automated and fully automated assembly, pharmaceutics packing and filling, plus packaging and logistics.
