PACMotion firmware version 1.5 from GE Intelligent Platforms can control up to 40 axes of synchronized motion all at the exact same servo update loop rate of 1ms independent of the number of motion axes.

By enabling connectivity to a wider variety of off-the-shelf devices, PACMotion is available to serve many more applications, which can lead to lower system cost. Firmware version 1.5 features 2 axis analog servo control allowing control of 1 or 2 third-party amplifiers using a 10 VDC analog speed or torque command. A PACMotion module controls 4 axes, and each module can use 2 of those axes for third-party servos through this upgrade. Mixing of FANUC and analog axes on the same PACMotion module is also supported.
