Robotics methodology

This survey, conducted in March ’04, resulted in 818 qualified respondents. Nearly a third of all respondents identified their companies as being in the food business.

Slightly more than 12% were participants from companies that make nonfood consumer products, and 17% said their companies make medical or pharmaceutical products.

About 29% of the respondents have engineering titles, while 12% have specific packaging job responsibilities. Nearly 9% of answers came from purchasing individuals. Almost 11% have plant or corporate management titles.

On a geographical basis, 32% of respondents come from companies in the Midwest, while 24% said their companies are based in the Northeast. About 12% of respondents call the West Coast home, 10% said they are based in the Southeast. The Southwest and Mountain States are home for another 10% of participants. Fewer than 8% come from outside the United States.

Finally, more than 87% of all respondents said they were regular readers of Packaging World.
