THE trade body for the global hologram industry has reached a new milestone after securing its one hundredth member.

U-NICA, the Swiss-based security solutions provider, has become the latest organisation to join the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA), a not-for-profit organisation that now has 100 members.

The news comes as the IHMA continues to promote the advantages of holographic technology worldwide, particularly in the authentication of products and ID documents, as well as for eye-catching designs for retail packaging and print.

IHMA members actively cooperate to maintain the highest professional, security and quality standards in support of their customers.

In particular, membership signifies that U-NICA and others are committed to meeting the rigorous requirements of an industry Code of Practice, assuring customers, suppliers and partners of ethical business practices and quality products.

Dr Mark Deakes, general secretary of the IHMA, said continuing to increase the membership base of the IHMA and reaching out to hologram producers worldwide to promote design integrity remains paramount.

He added: “The IHMA is delighted to welcome U-NICA as its 100th member. We look forward to working with and servingU-NICA in the future, and wish them every success with their innovative products.

“The 100 milestone confirms the increasing importance that organisations place on the IHMA, and builds on the tremendous work previously undertaken by Ian Lancaster, [former IHMA general secretary] and the current IHMA board led by chairman Mike Messmer.”

Eoin Quinlan, product manager for U-NICA, said: “We are delighted to join the IHMA and very much look forward to playing an active role within the organisation and the wider holographic community as part of our business strategy and future growth plans.”
