Since June 1993 ESS Technologies, Inc. has designed and manufactured essential packaging machinery for pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, cosmetics and consumer goods. To better meet the growing demands for automated packaging machinery, ESS announces an expansion to our organizational structure as well as our manufacturing space.

Expanded Organizational Structure

In early 2021, company president, Kevin Browne, created new positions for Director of Operations and Director of Engineering and promoted long-time ESS engineers, Paul Landers and Mike Morgan into the positions. Paul, who previously managed the mechanical engineering team, now oversees daily operations for the company. Mike, who previously managed the electrical engineering and field service teams now oversees all engineering for the company. Mike and Paul bring years of engineering experience and a focus on maintaining ESS’s high standard of quality for our packaging machines while finding ways to improve our products.

Steven Easter has been promoted to fill the Mechanical Engineering Manager position, and Brian Stuck has been promoted to Electrical Engineering Manager. In addition, ESS is adding new members to both the electrical and mechanical engineering departments.

Expanded Manufacturing Capability

To meet increased demands for our packaging machinery, ESS has opened a satellite facility in Pembroke, Virginia that includes additional office and manufacturing space. This second facility, added to the company headquarters in Blacksburg, Virginia, gives ESS Technologies nearly 30,000 square feet of research and development, engineering and manufacturing space with room for future expansions. Kevin Browne promoted long-time employee and engineer, James Hungate, to act as General Manager for the Pembroke location to ensure that ESS’s strict standards of quality for manufacturing our machines is consistent throughout the facility.
