DS Smith, Plastics Div. opened a manufacturing facility in Romeoville, IL.

Ron Puvak was appointed Managing Director of the Contract Packaging Association.

Pregis announced it is sponsoring the Automotive Packaging Summit, an event focused on aiding OEMs and their suppliers in finding solutions specific to the market segment’s needs.

Graphic Packaging Holding Co. acquired Spain-based Norgraft Packaging, S.A.

Sun Chemical acquired Joules Angstrom U.V. Printing Inks Corp.

ProAmpac acquired the following companies: Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Orlando from Clondalkin Group, PolyFirst Packaging, and Trinity Packaging Corp.

Emsur USA equipped its plant with a new seaming machine for shrink sleeves and inspecting lines.

People

Christoph Held was named Managing Director of Optima consumer GmbH.

Douglas McGraw was named President of Hayssen Flexible Systems.

C. Anderson Bolton joined PaperWorks Industries, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Flair Flexible Packaging added David Elliason as Business Development Manager.

Steven Wolfe was named General Manager for TNA North America Inc.

Jim Lambert was promoted to Vice President of Digital Sales—Ink and Hardware for INX International Ink Co.

David Jewel was hired as Vice President of WinePak Operations for TricorBraun.

Wago named Toby Thomann President of its North American headquarters and added Boris Babic as Regional Sales Manager for Eastern Canada.

Matrix announced the following promotions: Kevin Grohnke, PE, was named Senior Vice President of Operations; Bill Schuller, PE, was named Vice President of Engineering; and Tim Lemoine, PE, was named Director of Engineering.

Achievements

Silgan Closures’ Champaign, IL, manufacturing facility was awarded the 2017 Illinois Governor’s Sustainability Award recognizing the plant’s efforts designed to improve safety, minimize waste, cut energy consumption, and lower emissions.
