At a special meeting held Jan. 7, 2009, the Packaging Machinery Manufacturer's Institute (www.pmmi.org) Board of Directors elected Jim Anderson, CEO of Marlen, to serve as chairman in 2009. Anderson, who served as chairman in 2007–2008, was nominated to fill the term after Randy Spahr, recently with Goodman Packaging Equipment, resigned his volunteer PMMI position.
In addition, Richard S. Schneider, president of Schneider Packaging Equipment Co., Inc., was elected to the board. Schneider replaces Robert Storms, director of sales and marketing, Moen Industries, who resigned his volunteer position at PMMI to focus on corporate efforts. Schneider has served on the Membership Committee since 1997, and was a board member from 2004 to 2007.
“Both of these leaders know PMMI well and are ready to hit the ground running,” notes Charles Yuska, PMMI president and CEO. “On behalf of the PMMI membership, I thank them for their service and look forward to working with them to continue to deliver value added services to the membership and the industry at large.”
