Bryant Label, a printer of pressure-sensitive labels in Blountville, TN, earned a 90-day payback on a Gerber SR1500(TM) digital printing system from Gerber Scientific Products (Manchester, CT).

The Gerber system includes a web-fed digital thermal printer, high-speed plotter and the company's design/production software. "With old letterpress-type numbers, you were limited to certain typefaces and point sizes," says owner James Bryant. "With this software we're not restricted. It provides a good, fast, easy way to generate consecutively numbered permanent labels. It's one of the few machines we have that paid for itself in the first quarter [that we used it].
