Existential questions regarding packaging posed by Dutch authority...

Michael Nieuwesteeg, managing director of Netherlands Packaging Centre asks questions about packaging "that many are afraid to pose." Using linguistic gymnastics spanning many languages, Nieuwesteeg proceeds to ask packagers to consider what a package is and what we do with packaging. "Packaging per definition results in packaging 'waste' after the product is used." But, he adds, "waste is only waste if we don't do something with it." What is the impact of packaging on the environment? is the real question he and his colleagues are asking.
