More baby blues...

Some baby bottles contain Bisphenol A—commonly known as BPA—a chemical that reportedly "alters the development of the brain and prostate gland in children and babies, both before and after birth."

This according to the National Toxicology Program. But the FDA says current exposure to BPA is safe for children. The FDA has only considered exposure from food packaging and linings of metal formula cans, which could account for the differing opinions from the two agencies which are both part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. "Foreign governments are also divided on the safety of BPA," according to one source. While agencies in Europe and Japan say BPA is safe, Canada is proposing a ban on the chemical.
