many firms packaging water without license with brand names like 'Relax', `Aditya,' `Amruta,' `Sivaganga,' and `Aqua'.

Water often comes right from the tap, sometimes not even filtered. Officials have tried to shut down bogus bottlers who continue to operate out the back door. Officials plan to ask power company to stop supplying electricity to the offending companies.
