South Africa could switch to plastic for beer...

Astrapak (APK) says that parts of the beer industry might switch to plastic packaging in the next five to ten years if PET technology improvements enable the shelf life of beer in plastic to stretch to 24 months.

Plastic litter, says the company, is not a packaging problem, it is a people problem. "I think we need to start educating people about a clean environment and change their attitude towards littering," says CEO.
