Britain's new food labels...

lead to drop in sales.

Since adoption of new food labels indicating levels of salt, fat and sugar, sales of "unhealthy foods" have fallen 40%. Reports from supermarkets indicate that within two months of the new nutrition labels, ready-to-eat meals dropped 37 percent. Findings may force producers to make changes in the nutritional value of processed foods. Same supermarkets note sharp increase in sales of lower fat content offerings.
