Sweden's Supreme Court upheld an appeal court's decision barring
Budejovicky Budvar NP from using "Budweiser Budvar" on its labels,
packaging and advertising. The court battle started in 1999 when
U.S.-based Anheuser-Busch registered "Budweiser" name in Sweden. The
brewers have battled in about 50 countries since takeover talks failed
in the 1990s.

Anheuser-Busch has won the exclusive right to use the "Budweiser" name in Sweden, defeating a Czech competitor's attempt to label its beer bottles with the name.
