ISA100-Based Wireless Field Vibration Sensor

The unit from Yokogawa features fast data updates and long battery life.

Pw 195287 1701np Yokogawa

By providing real-time updates on vibration levels in plant facilities, this sensor helps users quickly detect equipment anomalies, an essential element in predictive maintenance. The principal components of the sensor are the FN510 field wireless multifunction module, the LN01 piezoelectric type acceleration sensor, and the FN110 field wireless communication module. Via a gateway device, the multifunction module uses the ISA100 wireless communications protocol to exchange data with a host-level system such as a DCS. Both explosion proof and non-explosion proof types are available. The sensor can be set to update data as quickly as every 10 seconds; when set to update data once per minute, it can operate on a single set of batteries for up to 10 years. Measurement frequency is 10 Hz to 10 kHz; measurable range is 0–300 m/s2 for acceleration and 0–160 mm/s for velocity. The unit is explosion proof (intrinsically safe) per FM, CSA (cFM), ATEX and IECEx.
