EASTACOAT resins from Eastman Chemical (Kingsport, TN) are medium-density polyethylenes for extrusion-coating applications. The materials are said to form a strong bond to polyethyleneimine-primed substrates, including polyester and nylon films, without the need for supplementary ozonation.

Offer high gloss and contain no additives or corrosive modifiers, which is said to be advantageous in non-continuous extrusion-coating operations. Coatings as thin as 5 lb/ream can be applied at laminator speeds in excess of 800 fpm.
