Fighting mold in homes, as well as commercial and government buildings, is serious business. Now there’s a new tool for the fight: Moldgard™, a 15- to 17-micron cast nylon film that includes a proprietary antimicrobial material.

The film earned DuPont Silver.

The film is supplied by Alcan Packaging, then oriented by Honeywell Specialty Films to impart stiffness and thermal properties. The film is sent to the JP Lamborn Company for adhesive-lamination to ductwork materials that are made into 25’-long sections and sold to building contractors for installation.

The film controls certain molds and bacteria, is considered environmentally safe, and meets various U.L. requirements. —JB
