“The Flexcan is the perfect consumer-friendly solution for this kind of product since it is easy to dispense the dried fruit directly from the pack,” says Eric Scott, purchasing director of Sundora. “Plus it can be re-sealed to keep the product fresh, and it stands up in the fridge for easy storage after opening.”
The three-ply laminate of oriented polypropylene/metallized polyester/polyethylene is reverse-printed by gravure in six colors by Amcor Flexibles’ Colodense, England plant for maximum on-shelf impact. It employs Amcor’s patented easy-open and reclose flap, and the stiff structure ensures the multi-stacking capability required by most supermarkets. The new packs use less material than the previous stand-up pouches for the product line, and the shape is more cube-efficient.
The Flexcan is a joint development between machine maker Rovema Packaging Machines and Amcor Flexibles.
